6 Infrared Self-Care Essentials for 2026
February 23, 2026 – Today’s wellness-minded consumers are looking for smarter solutions that work in the background to support comfort, recovery, and overall well-being…
At this year’s BEYOND Biohacking Conference in Austin, one theme was impossible to miss: infrared and light-based wellness technologies were everywhere. From recovery beds and saunas to brain health devices, oral care tools, and sleep products, brands across the show floor were exploring new ways to harness the power of light and energy to support human performance and wellbeing.
For years, light therapies have been used in clinical and professional settings. But at BEYOND Biohacking, it became clear that the category is rapidly evolving beyond specialized applications and into products, environments, and experiences designed for everyday use.
Historically, many consumers associated light therapies with medical settings, rehabilitation clinics, or dedicated wellness sessions. Today, that perception is changing. At BEYOND Biohacking, light-based technologies appeared across nearly every area of optimization, from recovery and relaxation to sleep, cognitive wellness, and daily self-care routines. The common thread was simple: a growing recognition that invisible forces like light and energy can meaningfully influence how we feel, recover, and perform.
Recovery remains one of the most established applications of infrared wellness, and several brands showcased technologies designed to create immersive recovery experiences. One standout was Ammortal, whose recovery beds combine heat and light experiences in environments designed to promote relaxation and restoration. Their presence reflected a broader industry trend toward creating dedicated recovery spaces that encourage users to slow down, recover intentionally, and support overall wellbeing.
These experiences reinforce something the wellness industry increasingly understands: recovery is no longer viewed as passive downtime. It’s becoming a proactive and essential part of performance.
Infrared saunas have long been among the most recognizable applications of infrared wellness, and they continue to be a major presence within the biohacking community.
At BEYOND Biohacking, Sunlighten showcased its infrared sauna experiences alongside complementary recovery accessories, including infrared towels that are infused with CELLIANT technology. The category has evolved considerably over the past decade, moving beyond simply providing heat toward creating more holistic experiences centered around relaxation, recovery, and overall wellness. While saunas remain a cornerstone of infrared wellness, they’re also serving as a gateway for many consumers to better understand how light and heat can support their routines.
Perhaps one of the most fascinating areas of innovation at the conference was the growing focus on cognitive wellness. Neuronic demonstrated wearable technologies designed for brain health applications, highlighting how light-based wellness is increasingly expanding beyond physical recovery and into conversations around cognitive performance and overall brain wellbeing.
The growing presence of these technologies suggests that interest in light-based wellness is broadening. Increasingly, innovators are asking not only how these technologies can support recovery, but also how they may fit into larger conversations around resilience, performance, and quality of life.
While many infrared technologies still involve dedicated sessions or environments, another trend stood out at the conference: the movement toward integrating infrared wellness into products people already use every day. At the CELLIANT booth, attendees explored our newest CELLIANT365 products, including infrared-infused sheets for thermoregulation, the Infrared Dream Pillow, and a variety of infrared sleep masks. Each of these products harness the benefits of full-spectrum IR, designed around the idea that supportive wellness technologies can become part of existing routines rather than requiring additional time commitments.
This evolution toward passive wellness reflects a larger shift occurring throughout the industry. Increasingly, brands are looking for ways to bring supportive technologies into everyday products, making wellness feel more accessible and easier to integrate into daily life.
Biolight showcased innovations ranging from oral care tools to an infrared shower curtain, demonstrating just how quickly the light therapy category is expanding into unexpected product formats.
These innovations illustrate an important point: infrared and light-based wellness no longer belong to a single category. Instead, they are becoming platforms for innovation that can be integrated into products and experiences across many aspects of daily life.
At BEYOND Biohacking, infrared and light-based wellness didn’t feel like a niche trend or an isolated category. They felt like a movement. Applications spanned recovery, relaxation, cognitive wellness, sleep, and everyday comfort. Some technologies focused on dedicated experiences, while others explored how supportive wellness inputs can be integrated seamlessly into daily routines.
What united all of them was a shared belief that invisible forces like light and energy play an important role in human performance and wellbeing. As interest in sleep, recovery, and performance continues to grow, we expect to see even more innovations that bring infrared and light-based wellness into everyday life.
BEYOND Biohacking made one thing clear: infrared is no longer confined to clinics or occasional wellness sessions. Increasingly, it’s becoming integrated into products, spaces, and routines designed to support wellbeing in ways that are both measurable and accessible.
