Functional Fabric Fair New York will take place on July 18th from 9am-6pm EST and July 19th from 9am-5pm EST at the Javits Center located at 665 West 34th St, New York, NY, 10001. The fair is open, free of charge, to verified designers, product, purchasing or material managers looking to source fabrics and accessories for sportswear, workwear, sportive fashion and athleisure apparel. We are thrilled to announce that for this year’s Summer New York Edition of Functional Fabric Fair, CELLIANT will be exhibiting. Previous attendees include many world-renowned brands in the fashion and athleisure spaces including Calvin Klein, DKNY, Victoria’s Secret Ralph Lauren, Vineyard Vines and TOMMY HILFIGER. As we continuously move in the direction of innovation, we are thrilled to officially introduce CELLIANT Print to the Functional Fabric Fair audience. Traditionally, CELLIANT has been embedded directly into fibers and yarns. CELLIANT Print allows for the bioceramic minerals to be applied directly onto the surface of many different fabric types, including your existing preferred fabrics. Additionally, CELLIANT Print allows for the highest potency of CELLIANT to be added to the end product. From small-scale applications like athletic tape to large-scale applications like bedding, CELLIANT can accommodate a range of print projects and will last the useful life of the garment, or about 50+ washes. This latest innovation expands the uses of the CELLIANT technology, ultimately increasing the number of prospective partners at the forefront of innovation.
Functional fabrics are defined as a fabric or textile product that provides some function above and beyond the basic function it’s primarily designed for. Functional fabrics and technical textiles have been around for some time, but the idea of clothing that can convert your own body heat into infrared energy and automatically deliver the benefits back to the wearer offers a fresh perspective on what makes fashion functional. CELLIANT itself is not actually a fabric, rather, it is a blend of bioceramic minerals that are ground to an extremely fine powder which can then embedded into fabrics. As of November 2022, PERFORMANCE DAYS has officially been able to indicate the CO2 emissions for each product within their Focus Topic Category, called “The Journey to Carbon Neutrality”, marking a huge step forward for the fashion industry at large.
